Nutrients
A nutrient is a substance used by an organism to survive, grow, and reproduce. They can be divided into Macronutrients and Micronutrients. Our students researched themes related to nutrition during Biology, Social science and Earth science lessons and at home, creating presentations and wall posters to present their findings. Our main theme was Micro and Macro nutrients. Below this section you can see two of the best presentations on the subject, done by 9th and 12th grade students, as well as a collection of posters done by 8th grade students.
Students divided into six international groups create a book containing information related to:elements & microelements (supervised by Latvia), carbohydrates (supervised by Poland), proteins(supervised by Spain), fats (supervised by Portugal), vitamins (supervised by Romania), water(supervised by Lithuania).
Pupils analyze the chemical substances in regard to:
a) the biochemical features,
b) their function in human body,
c) food products containing the nutrients in questions.
